Overview of the different Wibrain models
It is a bit confusing looking at the model names, so i try to make it a bit more clear. With Windows XP - B1E - the low cost model. 512MB RAM and 30GB HDD - B1H - the high end model. 1GB RAM and 60GB HDD With Linux - B1L - the "L" stands for "Linux". While cheaper since Linux doe...

Did anyone ever manage to hack the small lid display?
I had spent some time looking at the binaries that drive the lid display and while technically it only supports Outlook there seems to be support (not activated?) for audio playback (Media player i assume). I couldn't manage to get that working though.

OQO - overhyped or underdog?
The OQO has an incredibly big fanbase. But after all the years I am looking back to the OQO models with a more critical eye. When the Model 01 came out it was impressive regarding the size and design. From the specs this was not really a killer - but remember - this was in 2004. Most notably the slo...

Why the Viliv N5 is my current favorite...
Well i just love the form factor - so small, finally an UMPC that really fits in my pocket. The optical trackpad is also a nice addition compared to the "touchscreen only" variants of other UMPCs. 1GB RAM also makes working under Windows quite comfortable. The "Premium" edition w...

OSX86 on an Aigo MID
http://www.tankraider.com/userup/1484660093.jpg Image from another user... Well the device is too slow and the HDD too small to seriously use OSX, but it seems to be an interesting challenge. I am currently trying to download OSX86 10.4.1 install sources as that might just fit with a minimum instal...

Re: MiniNote 3000
Would be interesting to get the drivers. Some stuff is custom made for this machine. Since there's no PCMCIA flash drivers for the PS-1000 models I'd love to try and see if they work on the older machines, then we could use Flash cards or CF on these... It's kinda long shot, but if the PCMCIA contro...

Re: MiniNote 3000
Very interesting machine! I have dropped you a PM. :) Well the loadlin trick works on every machine - so you could boot something like minix - i even did that on the Sharp PC-3100 once. With a 386 and 4 MB even better unix flaours should be possible. However - only unix can be loaded by loadlin - so...

Re: Finally a forum about Palmtops
Thanks for the detailed explanations. Maybe imma put some of this info in the 100LX/200LX articles. Ah yeah, i always wanted to have an ethernet card for the HP, even though i already know I'd prolly just spend a few minutes with it as a toy. The places i visit that have ethernet sockets barely just...

Re: Finally a forum about Palmtops
Good to hear there's another HP Enthusiast. I always like the HP product line for the small size. Just being curious about your Upgrades. I have seen RAM Upgrades and doublespeed hacks quite often in Japan where the HP series has kinda cult following, but outside of Japan These were pretty rare i th...
